Woulda, shoulda, coulda been a dynasty

From Bears to Bills, Braves to Blazers -- those teams that woulda, shoulda, coulda been dynasties.

And then, of course, there were the Buffalo Bills.

Or, as we in the Dynastic Model Chat Room like to say, "Next!"

If not for Scott Norwood missed field goal in Super Bowl XXV, the Bills might have been on their way to becoming a dynasty.
It's hard to feel pity for the Bills of Marv Levy's tenure. In fact, you figure the Bills of that Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Don Beebe era would reject pity as the worst sort of condescension toward a team that, in fact, was good enough and consistent enough to reach the Super Bowl in four straight seasons.

But the plain truth is that Buffalo managed to creep right up to the edge of greatness without actually getting there -- and, in that, the Bills lead a very contemporary list of coulda-been dynasties... MORE>>>>

It is too bad the team didn't get one of the super bowls,
and with a lable like this, it will be hard to shake when the team does win one.
Pounding the world like a battering-ram!

Yeah, that article isnt necessary. He is bashing teams for winning conference championships left and right, but not bashing the teams that could only get there once. (giants, redskins, etc)

Maybe we should say, from 1990-1993, we were the best team in the league. Maybe not the best each year, but over the 4 years, we were the best team.

ONE Super Bowl win will be complete expiation for those heartbreaking four years. Let's get one this year and stop living in the past.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Remember that the bills are the only team to go to the suoerbowl 4 years in a row....and the only reason that team is not a dynasty is bacause the NFL started free agency and the salary cap.....We lose alot of pro bowlers those first couple years...Other old dynasty would never have gotten as far was we did with those two rules
