Also embarrassing for the league and the Hurricanes, who like to brag their fans are the best in hockey, was the failure to sell out the RBC Center. The crowd of 18,730 was about 270 short of capacity, although they were a loud and enthusiastic group, fuelled by several hours of tailgate parties before the game.

It's their own ****in' fault by putting ZIP code restrictions on internet orders. They got as much support in Hartford.

according to ESPN, the sabres fans almost outnumber Hurricanes fans, similar to a toronto/buffalo game

I dont think we outnumbered them at all. However if you read the Canes board are presence was definately felt. :)

Carolina is more about College basketball then hockey

NASCAR is also a choice sport. I'm willing to bet there aren't many NASCAR / Hockey enthusiasts.

The best part about Hockey for the NASCAR enthusiasts is the pre-period skate around. Basically go straight and turn left around the net, turn left again, go straight to blue line and turn left etc...

Of course line chages are almost like pit stops.
