The first period is just like all the Ott. series.. A little nerve racking but typical. Hopefully the Sabres settle down for the rest of the game and take advantage of their chances.

My Opinion the hit on Tallinder shouldnt have been hoooking, but boarding , 5 minutes,

the player saw Tallinder going down and hit him low on the boards anyway, had that been us doing the hit we woulda got the 5 minutes,

the play were they scored was just wierd along withteh 4 or 5 chances thay had after it, bounching puck or players losing edge (****ty ice?)

Briere or Dumont got flatten just before that though, same play that got Tallinder 2 minutes...

I don't have a huge problem with the refs right now. I thought Briere got checked from behind when he was behind the net too, but that is no big deal. They aren't going to get every call right, as long as they are consistant and fair.

Much better play in the second. The third is when Carolina gets strong. BUffalo is going to have to be aware of the quick attack and play smart. Scoring chances should increase for them as well. Teppo being out may get the rest of the D tired so they need to play smart.

For the 3rd straight series, Buffalo takes Game 1. :cool:

What a game. Game 1 between these 2 teams, as I expected, brought the excitement. Buffalo was outplayed in the 1st, but they took over from there. The final :50-1:30 of the game put Miller on center stage, and he shined as brightly as he has at any point this season. If that doesn't show the doubters that he is for real, then I don't know what will. :confused:

This game could've very well been 4, 5, or 6 for Buffalo on the board. They just didn't get all of the bounces. Speaking of bounces, too bad about the 2nd "goal" that went in. For all of the shots that the 'D' blocks, it sucked to see that one trickle off of Lydman into the goal. :cry:

Onward to Monday, and Game 2! :party:
