Bills report: Inside slant
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
That axiom is playing itself out when it comes to two very big offensive linemen in the NFL, one now a Buffalo Bill.
In Jacksonville, coaches and fans are hoping Mike Williams, the No. 4 overall pick of Buffalo's in 2001 who was released this off-season, can meet his expectations and be a missing link.
In Buffalo, coaches and fans are hoping Aaron Gibson (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/133294), the 27th overall pick of Detroit's in 1999 who was out of football last season, can do the same. more (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/9450131)

Bills report: Notes, quotes
The Bills (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/BUF) will conduct a series of three-day organized team activities over a three-week period starting next week. The team's new coaching staff did a good chunk of installation work in two previous voluntary camps. Attendance was nearly 100 percent, with fewer than a handful of veterans choosing not to attend. Of course, one very important player has yet to attend, RB Willis McGahee (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396170). Insiders predict a contract holdout is looming, but so far, agent Drew Rosenhaus is keeping mum, particularly after the negative press he received during the Terrell Owens controversy.more (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/9450132)

Bills report: Strategy and personnel
The Bills (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/BUF) hope to get some answers for their many offensive line questions over the next three weeks during a series of organized team activities.
One player to watch is second-year man Justin Geisinger (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/411227), a sixth-round pick out of Vanderbilt who has made strong strides under assistant Jim McNally and could wind up as Buffalo's starting center were he to beat out free agent Melvin Fowler (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/302023). more (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/9450133)

I have to laugh at the prospect of Willis holding out. To me, he quit - or at least seriously underperformed - last season, and with his rather questionable character and his absences from minicamp, he is more likely to be sent packing when his contract is up.

Unless, of course, he has a monster year in 2006.

Interesting quote about Geisinger. Could he really overtake Fowler? I seriously doubt it but who knows.

Interesting indeed. Right now we are overloaded with guys that can play guard and center including Fowler, Geisenger, Duke Preston and Aaron Mertz. That is a lot of competition.

How can the article not mention Reyes, who in my opinion, should end up the starter at left guard. Geisinger will be a back-up.

Willis holding out?

I'd love to see him try that with Marv here.

The Bills don't need issues at the RB position, Willis is turning into a turd. Who better to represent him then an Ahole like roseybut!!!

Screw Willis. Trade his ass now to anyone that will take him. Bring in a FA to work in. We dont need this headache, Willis just isn't worth it.

Willis won't hold out. He hasn't shown that he can do anything 30 other RB's in the league can't. He has no real leverage and no one wll want to pay big bucks for him anyway. On top of that, he proclaims himself the best and brings his little dollie to a press conference in a shameless display of self-promotion. That's not a good way to get Marv's respect. He will rot for a year out of football if he tries that.

Here's a Willis note from the recent (5-26-06) issue of Sporting News from Dave Kindred's section (back page.) The main heading "You don't have to be nutty living in SportsWorld, but it definately helps."
The Willis part make you scratch your head a bit:

Before Mother's Day, reporter Jemele Hill of the Orlando Sentinel spoke of wives and mothers with Willis McGahee, and NFL running back, 24 years old, the father of two.
"What's more troublesome," Hill asked, "an ex-wife or a baby's momma?"
"A baby's momma."
"Why?"
"Because," the millionaire athlete said, "they feel like they should be a part of your life for 18 years. An ex wife, you can get away from her until the child is 18 or older. They're going to constantly ask you for money. They just want to nag you for no reason, just because they can."
Hey Hallmark. Put that on your Baby Momma's Day cards.
Hopefully Willis was just trying to be funny and not serious with that bit of wisdom.

No Willis was NOT trying to be funny - he is from Miami. lol. Also, that OJ part is kind of messed up. I wonder since everyone jokes that he did it, that he's kind of joined in on the "joke." It also mentions his show, Juiced, where he tries to sell someone a white Ford Bronco. Woah.

OJ obviously realizes if he does not laugh with the joke people are laughing at him.

Of course Willis doesn't think, "Wow, the Bills really took a financial chance on me by picking me in the first round when I had a mangling injury. They paid a lot for that risk." He thinks, quite simplistically, "I'm playing better than I did when I didn't have a knee, so don't I deserve more money now?"

If McGahee holds out this year then we know what type of character he is. He has lost most of my respect and its all on his shoulders to earn it back.

We know Voluntary mini-camps represents a dedication to the team and the game. Where has Willis been ?

The man has a very piss poor dedication to the Bills IMO

Not defending Willis, but remember he did have a bad OL to run behind.

I think Willis should hold out and demand that the Bills pay him accordingly!! Translation= a 30% pay cut for lack of production and another 10% for running his mouth!
