BUFFALO, N.Y. -- When Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was pondering lineup changes after a Game 2 loss in Carolina, he came upon the idea of inserting long-forgotten defenseman Jeff Jillson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2120) into the lineup.

I like his play but I do not think we can win the Cup with Jillson, Fitzpatrick and Janik over Khalinin, Teppo and Tallinder

Jillson didn't tie up his guy on the second goal. He is weak in scrums around the net.

Lindy does have more flexibility with Jillson, as he doesn't hurt you on the PP and can eat up some ice time there.

I'm not sold. I've seen him in too many games as a Shark (Where he spent most of his time in Cleveland), and he was also soft in Boston. He played fairly well last night, but I'm not ready to say he's a solid replacement---yet.
