The Toronto Sun has learned Williams came to Toronto this week of his own accord to investigate the city and the Argos, who want to sign him pending their ability to satisfy the Miami Dolphins the superstar running back will be back in the NFL next season.

It's supposed to be a two year deal (2nd year would be optional)

I wonder if he understands the Argos aren't in the NFL?

From what I hear, the deal is contingent on the Argos specifically letting him go after the 1st year. Obviously the only reason he's doing it is for the money, which won't be much comparitively, but I guess you have to get money to your 3 baby momma's. I know in the past he enjoyed his wacky tobacky, but where did all of his money go? A writer for the Miami Herald sheds some of his thoughts on the whole Ricky/CFL thing and wonders where all of Ricky's money went to as well:

Thoughts on Ricky's CFL Negotiation (http://dolphinsindepth.blogspot.com/2006/05/some-thoughts-on-rickys-cfl.html)

It also has an interesting bit on Dolphins team president Brian Weidmeier and his ipioneeering of conduct and other protective clauses in contracts to insulate his club from strange things (people quitting right before training camp.)

Next observation: If you are a Dolphins fan you should be quite happy this saga has dragged as long as it has because it means your home team is crossing every i and dotting every T (trying to be funny there) to protect its interests. In that regard, the Dolphins have THE best individual in the business in team president Bryan Wiedmeier.
You don't hear too much about Wiedmeier because he prefers to operate behind the scenes but he was among the league pioneers to introduce conduct and other protective clauses in contracts to insulate his club from strange happenstance -- such as a player going AWOL a week before training camp. Wiedmeier was insisting on such clauses as far back as the Sam Madison contract in the late 1990s. Such clauses are the norm in the NFL now.

Its official now. Ricky is an Argonaut...at least for 2006. Personally, I wouldn't mind if he just STAYED up there, however indications are that he will be back with My beloved Dolphins next season.

He is being tested 10 times a month by the NFL. And this ownership will cut him fast if he fails.

$240,000 is dishwasher money compared to what he would have made in ther NFL. Keep getting high kid, you'll end up waiting on me, more water please.
