All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Ricky Williams has a new home in the CFL. Suspended for the 2006 season by the NFL after a fourth positive drug test, Williams signed a $240,000, one-year contract with the Toronto Argonauts -- a deal making him the highest-paid running back in the Canadian league.
Williams, who's still under contract with the Miami Dolphins, is expected to begin practicing with his new team Monday; the Argonauts open preseason play this weekend and start their regular season at home against Hamilton June 17. The 18-game regular season runs through late October.
lol, your sub-heading to this post is "Who cares about Ricky," yet you make a post about it, plus there's already one going about the same thing. Oh, and welcome to BillsZone.com
TORONTO -- Ricky Williams will earn close to $500,000 this season - almost twice what was originally reported - to play his only year of Canadian football.
A bevy of sources confirmed yesterday that Williams's salary is significantly higher than the $240,000 a year that has been attributed to the contract.
The actual value pushes Williams closer to the $585,000 US he would have earned this season with Miami. The new numbers also mean Williams will be compensated similarly to the CFL's highest-paid players, QBs Dave Dickenson in B.C. and Ricky Ray in Edmonton.
The Argos can afford this kind of deal because the stringent salary cap, agreed to by reluctant CFL governors in the winter, hasn't been implemented yet.
Former quarterback Joe Theismann, who began his professional career with the Argonauts and later went on to star in the NFL with the Redskins, said he was "embarrassed now to be a Toronto Argonaut" in an interview with ESPN Radio's Colin Cowherd.
"I don't ever want to be mentioned in the same breath as Ricky Williams as a football player. He's a disgrace to the game. The man doesn't deserve to play football. He should go on with his life and treat his drug addictions or go do whatever he wants to do. He's been suspended from the National Football League on multiple occasions. Doesn't anybody have any class anywhere? For gosh sakes, let the kid go do what he wants to do. He doesn't want to play football," Theismann, who is part of ESPN's Monday Night Football announcing crew, said.
After his second day of practice in Canada today, Williams noted that Theismann has often been critical of him in the past, consistently bashing anyone who is willing to associate with the controversial star.
But Theismann reverses course when he sees Williams in person, the player said.
"Every time he says something, here's what happens: He says a remark about me that's offensive, then when he has to (broadcast) one of our (Dolphins) games, he comes in and apologizes and says, 'I'm sorry,'" Williams said.
