In franchise history i'd say at least..

But damn just think where we would be if Briere and Dumont stayed healthy..If we didnt lose Tallinder, Numminen, Kalinin, McKee, Connolly, Mair....It's just unreal how much we battled through and how far we came no matter what obstacle we faced.

This is the start of something big

And I can't wait!

Let's Go Buffalo!!!

((i just hope carolina doesnt win the cup, their city does NOT deserve it))

I don't know as far as how they compare to the Sabres teams of the 70s but this was definitely a better team than we had in the Cup Finals 7 years ago...that team was Hasek and his supporting cast. If Hasek had an off night, we were ****ed. If a member of this team had an off night, there'd be someone who'd pick up his slack.

1975-76 was the best team ever. By far.

Unfortunately, it was also in an era of probably oneof the top 3 dominant NHL teams of all times- The Canadiens of the 1970's. They could never get by them.

Their checking line was good for 60-70 goals a season! Luce, Ramsay, Gare

They handed the Soviet Union their worst international hockey defeat in history- the 12-6 pasting.

And we ran into a better goalie in 75 after beating those Canadians.

I was 5 in 75 so I will say this is the best team.

the finals team from 74-75 would have crushed these guys. they were built to win a championship. tough defense that had scoring touch. a checking line that kicked in over 60 goals. vets like stanfield and lorenz who guided the locker room. without Bernie Parent, Philly goes down in 5. I'd put this year's team at #3. The 75-76 team was loaded too.
