When the words penetrated my ear canal and rattled around in my cranium, my perspiration began to sweat – my goose pimples got goose pimples as the shout roared from my lips – "No Way – No How – Forget it."

That was my reaction when I noticed someone bringing up the possibility that the Bills might bring back "B.S." - #78 – Bruce Smith to finish his career as a Buffalo Bill.

Now, if they want to bring him back on a one-day contract so that he can officially retire as a Bill – as did Thurman Thomas, then I may not have a problem. But if it would mean that "B.S." would suit up and play one more season, then those letters would mean more than the name of the future Hall-of-Famer.....

Kelly didn't play long enough to be a cap casualty like Thurman , Reed and Bruce. Would he have whined as well? All three did . The cap caused Team management to cut ties with players despite their acheivement with that team. It was something that players weren't used to . Of course they'd complain.

It was different then. I'm sure players nowadays expect to get cut for salary cap reasons. The day will come when Moulds will have to face the music.

HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE! Ifinally agree with something Artty has said, and I agree with ALL of it including his remarks about Peerless Price!

Art Wander was a long time radio host and TV personality. His latest work before retiring last year was the mid- day time slot on WNSA sports talk radio, he had his own daily TV show called "Don't get me Started" on Empire sports in the afternoon- (a half hour call in show before Fan TV) and he also wrote weekly columns for both the WNSA and Empire web sites.

When he retired, we were fortunate enough to have him submit a weekly column to BillsZone.

Nobody ever accused Art of holding back, that's for sure.

I really don't think anyone has ever muttered the words "tell us how you really feel, Art!" to his face...:D

Good work Art! For vet min, I would have to consider it- but as an every down starter, we need to invest in a long term solution.

That would be great. He could get sack record as a Bill. He hasnt got the sack record yet has he?

Bruce has had 195 sacks in 19 seasons. What's Reggie's record?

Oh. Reggie White's sack record is NFL all-time high 198. That means Bruce only has 3 more to go to tie! I hope he does it as a Bill.

I'm with Artie baby boo boo on this one. Bruce has alway been about Bruce. The second someone made more money than him he would march up to Polian or Butler demanding more money instead of honoring his contract. If he embraced the fans and media like a Jim Kelly then I wouldn't have much of a problem bringing him back. Yes, he was a very dominant player and I was one of the 80,000 chanting BBRRUUUUUCCCEE on Sundays but deep in my heart I knew Bruce was only about Bruce kind of like Peerless Price today. I feel the Bills don't owe him anything more. If he was the best available DE pass rushing specialist available in FA left I maybe consider it for the minimum but if there was a better player out there I would rather go for the better player. I feel the only reason he is playing so he can break a record to make himself look good.
