Williams and Mularky both sent out "decoy" players to the huddle during time outs/tv time outs... only to replace them by the actual players. It NEVER worked!

Its childish...

how do you know it never worked?

I don't know for sure, but i think every team does that.

I don't think you can do that. If you go in, someone has to come out.

yeah, that's what he was saying..made a switch at the last second and cordog is right, it happens with lots of teams

You obviously know nothing about fakery.

Buffalo needs to learn how to fake like they're going to fake.

In the 6 games that I attended last year, I paid extra close attention to the downs played immediately following a timeout... because I wondered if it worked... it did not.

maybe it was more a case of the team sucking last year than the fakery not working. Maybe if we had some decent blocking and the like, it might've worked. :idunno:

Or...maybe we could think up every excuse in the book and not just call a duck a duck. It just hasnt worked here, Pride is right, we dont have nay playmaker who is worth having opposing teams attempt to make special matchups for. Its more than laughable.

I understand if 1 guy comes on, and 1 goes off... to run in the play... but at times we will have an entire offensive package (3-4 guys) come on/off. I've never seen another NFL team do that... at least as often as we do it!

:chuckle: I made Phil say fakery.

Yeah, I think solid systems, good play calling and great execution generally win games. (Forward Lateral being a notable exception.) The constant use of trick plays and "fakery" are generally done by weak teams to cover their deficencies. Good teams use trickery very sparingly.

I always wondered why they did that. :ill:

It happened with Shaud Williams for Willis McGahee all the time.

Proof?

Please cite every substituion, every defensive rotation, and whether or not, in your opinion, the matchups favored buffalo..

Please, this is rediculous. NFL coaches do it because it can work. Even if it doesn't work, what was lost? Absolutely nothing.

You can't tell me that it has never, ever worked to create a mismatch. If that was true, NFL coaches wouldn't do it. But I guess you know more than they do.

Yeah...I think every team does it to an extent...maybe we just did it more to excess than most. After all, Mularkey was known for having trick plays on a pretty consistent basis.

Why is it dumb? If it worked wouldn't they have won games? Both of those coaches sucked. Period.
