he'll do decent, in the 6 games he actually plays.

Baltimore doesn't seem to understand that mobile QB's are worthless after 10+ years in the league.

I feel for Boller. The kid has been nothing but class during this and worked his ass off. He really started to improve at the end of the 05 season

Finally, he should make their offense a little more explosive. He also rejoins ex teammate derrick mason.

I think McNair has a little more than people want to give him credit for. Baltimore WILL be a contender next year with this move. I have no doubt.

It's 50/50 he even makes it to October . Plus I read Baltimore is thinking of giving him 12 Mil !

Keep living in the past and ruin your cap. Good job, Billick.

2 good games against the Vikings and and Packers. Big deal. You seem to have a special affection for hard-working and underachieving QBs. Boller has had plenty of time.

Pittsburgh lost some key vets in FA....
Carson Palmer's return is not certain and w/o him they're toast...
                Cleveland has improved, on paper..

Baltimore had a shot to get a proven vet who's taken his team to a SB... Nobody in that divison is untouchable.. they gave up a fourth rounder for him.. Boller has had three years to prove he isn't a bust.. Its a GREAT trade for the Ravens.

And JP has had NONE. Boller was starting to come on. He had no running game and Baltimore had crap for a DL outside of the one stud that they let go to Carolina.

I agree. The Ravens' window of opportunity to win another title with this group of players is closing rapidly--they basically have two years to do it in. And, McNair should give their offense enough of a shot in the arm to let them make a run at it in that time. After that, though, all bets are off.

With the Ravens' defense, McNair will have a chance to put up points and they should be better able to protect him than the Titans were the last couple of years, so he won't be as vulnerable to getting hurt as he was in Tennessee. The Ravens will give the Steelers and Bengals a run for their money this season, especially if Palmer misses any significant amount of time.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

Re: Tennessee trades McNair to Baltimore

McNair is one of only four players in NFL history with 150 touchdowns passing and 35 rushing, trailing only Steve Young, Randall Cunningham and Steve Grogan. He is one of five with 25,000 yards passing and 3,000 yards rushing, a group that includes John Elway, Fran Tarkenton, Young and Randall Cunningham.

                          Good for Baltimore...
