Report: No doping violations in NHL

Canadian Press

6/12/2006 8:52:15 AM

(CP) - There were no positive drug tests among the 1,406 administered under the NHL's new anti-doping program, The Canadian Press has learned.

Sources confirmed no violations were found after doping tests began in January under a program jointly run by the league and the NHL Players' Association. It's the first season the NHL has had an anti-doping program.

 Why on Earth would players need to dope up to push a puck around and ice skate. If anything, the steroids would make them too big to skate cleanly and they would lose their speed. The new NHL is all about speed. I wouldn't be surprised if players that used Roids in the old NHL chose to get off them to get smaller and stay fast on the ice.
