Thomas returning to Ottumwa City of Bridges

When five-time Pro Bowl running back Thurman Thomas lost his stepfather to cancer four years ago, he made his mother a promise.

“My mother told me a long time ago to always try to give back whenever I can,” Thomas said. “When I lost my stepfather to cancer, I promised my mom that I would make it a point to do events involving cancer treatment.”

Thomas includes family in return to Ottumwa

Thurman Thomas was indeed back in Ottumwa and back to help a very worthy cause Friday. The five-time Pro-Bowler, however, didn’t return to the City of Bridges alone.
Unlike last year, when the all-time leading rusher of the Buffalo Bills made his first appearance in support of the McCreery Cancer Center, Thomas came to Ottumwa this year with his family alongside. more
