The Buffalo Sabres front office often lauded their players for stepping up whenever they were issued a challenge.

Now co-captain Daniel Briere wants management to respond in kind.

The passionate center on Monday spoke of his desire for the Sabres to retain the roster that propelled them to within one period of the Stanley Cup finals.

Wow. I've never really been a big Briere fan persay. But I can't argue with anything the guy said here. I'm glad he's calling out the FO. And the thing he said about McKee earning his pay after the way he's played for the past decade was spot on. Plus, I don't want to see McKee go because he's probably my fav player on the roster

I would agree, but if it came down to it, I'd let Briere go before McKee.

Looks like I'm not the only one who is paranoid about the Sabres future, and their position to build and maintain a winner.


All i can say is I spend each day mentally preparing myself for dissapointment. My hopes for next season aren't very high, and obviously the Sabres themselves know it, and fear it too.
