A defensive end in a 4-3 defensive front is rarely 280 pounds, but Chris Kelsay was tipping the scales at that weight last season.
"I got the heaviest I've ever been last year," said Kelsay. "The main reason behind that was I had to play inside more with Ron (Edwards) getting hurt, and Sam (Adams) getting hurt late in the year. I kind of needed to be a little bigger down in there."
While the extra weight may have helped him anchor down better in the time he spent at defensive tackle, it certainly didn't do Kelsay any favors while playing defensive end as he lost some of his speed off the edge.
