    BLUES SIGN McKEE

    By JOHN WAWROW
    AP Sports Writer
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Veteran defenseman Jay McKee agreed to terms on a four-year, $16 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
McKee's agent Pat Morris told The Associated Press that the overall terms of the deal were far superior to the contract the Buffalo Sabres, his client's former team, offered before allowing McKee to become an unrestricted free agent.

Jay was good, but he wasn't 4 million dollars a year good.

4 Million a year is alot of money to be playing a player who isn't in goal and doesn't score goals.

Pronger made 6.5 million last year and they wouldn't have been even in the playoffs without him.

I knew someone would pay him that much. I wish the Sabres could have ponied up 3 million for at least a couple years.

Good luck Jay. At least you aren't in our conference and can't hurt us more than once a year.

can't blame a guy for wanting to double his money.

Nah, he should have given the Sabres the "hometown discount".

I'm sure Jay did give the Sabres the chance for a "discount," but I heard that once again Regier tried to shortchange the player, offering just over 2 million. If I was McKee, I would have expected between 2.5-3 million from the Sabres. But now he heads to St. Louis where he'll make 4 mill a year but never win a cup. His lose, not ours. Good luck to him, but from this moment on I could care less about him. I'm concerned about our team and our team succeeding. I hope Regier goes out and makes some signings that will improve the team.

Well i don't have any hard feelings. Shame though that money is more important. i dunno maybe it's just me. I mean if someone offered me 2 mill a year to play a game for a living i would take it. Espically if it were my hometown team. But hey money talks nowadays. Have fun for playing with the blues.

Hey the name fits the team. Since thier gonna have nothing but the blues for a long time to come. But good luck Jay it was nice having ya here. I'm sure someone else will step up and be just as crazy as him and block pucks for fun.
