Ottawa senators have cut the once "dominator"

OTTAWA (AP) - Dominik Hasek's time in Ottawa ended Saturday when the Senators signed free agent goalie Martin Gerber away from the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes.

The signing of Gerber to a three-year deal worth $11.1 million, along with Ray Emery's emergence as a solid goaltender, means the Senators have no need for Hasek, who was told Saturday he would not be retained by the Senators

that's a good deal by the Sens,as much as i hate to say it.gerber's cheaper and has more left in the tank than hasek.

I didn't realize hasek was 40 he got his ring. he just needs to hang it up.

Ever since he messed up his groin he has had problems with it. I knew when he started playing after his hernia surgary it would cause problems. Just because i had one at the same time and the army wouldn't let me do crap for 3 months. I was only allowed to stretch for PT and walk and lift 5 pounds. No gear nothing. But i guess when your at your peak like he was at the time you think your invinceable.

A little off the subject. Wouldn't it be hilarious if hasek ended up with the islanders. Ya know the nolan vrs hasek thing.
