All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Amazing how other than Morris Titanic everyone of of first round selections in the 70's had a really good career...Our drafting the last 6-7 have been very marginal at best

That will happen when you just about double in size league wide.
Marek Zagrapan have posted back to back seasons with +80 points in QMJHL and will probably be in Rochester this year. A very fast forward with a quick release. Downside is that he plays to emotional sometimes and gets a lot of penalties. I ranked him over Pominville when it comes to prospects. The same with Stafford a good two-way player with good size and strength. A very good playmaker how is excellent around the boards. Will also be in Rochester this year.

The league may of doubled in size but the NHL also expanded to players around the world so there is double the amount of players available. Back in the 70's there were mostly Canadiens and American players in the draft. Plus the last 6-7 years Buffalo drafted mostly in the top 20 picks. You think we'd have more to show for it.

Well then, with the league doubling in size AND the influx of European and Russian players, it is that much more difficult to pick a player from all the available players. Plus, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the age a player gets drafted has gone down a year or two which compounds the problem. It is harder to find someone who will be NHL good when you are scouting them when they are 16.
