The Sabres are loaded again with porspects that could very easily make the transition next year to the Sabres,

1. Chris Thorburn C-W-6-3 220lbs- could easily fill void from Mike Greir, very solid checker and can be good fit for smaller roster had good year in AHL and played well while up here for a few

2. Mark Mancari-W-6-3 225lbs- was one of Rochester's best players and can play both D and W, he is very good in front of the net and has good skills on offense.

3. Nathan Paetcsh-D- 6-0 200lbs- showed very good skill and defensive mind set in playoffs this year when called up on emergency basis, did not look like a rookie, was rochester's best D

4. Clarke MacArthur-C-6-1 191lbs- very good skater, fast and good with puck also will be pushing for time

5. Drew Stafford- C-W- 6-2 212lbs- Michael Peca clone, very good penality killer and fore checker, can score and very sound, plays with nasty streak and is not afraid to hit

6. Marek Zagarapan- C- 6-1- 190lbs-World of potential and is scary with puck and speed combination, has very good scoring touch and outstanding shot

7.Dylan Hunter-W- 6-0- 200lbs- showing a lot his last couple of years and has NHL bloodlines, hits and grinds and can play this year, will likely be in AHL but shows all the things needed to be successful in NHL.

8. Mike Funk- 6-4- 208lbs- Mike Wilson clone good with puck and in offensive zone, can skate and plays powerplay, not to much with the body

9.Danillee Paille- 6-0- 200lbs plays hard and not afraid to mix it up, i would be surprised if he made the team next year probably will be in AHL, not a scorer but can do the little things and also penalty kills

10. Jiry Novitny- 6-3- 208lbs- Can play in the Nhl needs to be more consistent, finishs checks and plays all aspects of the game well

In my opinion, Chris Thorburn, Nathan Paetsch, and Mark Mancari will be up next year and the two sliders will be drew stafford and dylan hunter, this gives Buffalo more size and physicalness thru out the roster

I thought Novotny was very good when called upon last year. I would move him up the list.

Iy will be interesting to see next year assuming we get the core back what guys will still be here, I agree with Jiri Novotny, but we r loaded at center, i dont think taylor pyatt needs to be signed, he is so streaky and useless, to pay someone like 1.5 million a year to be on the checking line is not worth it

Nathan Paetcsh in my opinion is gonna be a solid defensman in this league, mark it down, that i said it, i seen him play in Rochester a few times, and he was one of there best players

Has Sekera signed yet?

I think that Novotny has the ability to go to Winger but image a checking line with Mancari 225lbs, Thorton 220lbs, and gaustad 230lbs, and they can all skate and score, would be better than Taylor 5 goals a year, Sekera i believe is still in the system not sure if he signed pro-contract of not Patrick Kaleta di and he is another that will be in rochester

I think Drew Stafford will have a big shot at making the club next year with Dumont out , but Kaleta is opening eyes no doubt

:check: this out I found this great vid of Patrick Kaleta on YouTube. He hits a player than draws two penalties.

He reminds me kind of like Mathew Barnaby plays he's a pain to play against on the ice!

I figure on Paetsch being at the pro level this year, as well as Paille. If Stafford makes the cut, he should be good. But that's if it's not decided to have him season himself at the AHL level, first.

Sounds like Rochester is going to have a very good year.

based on the buffalo players yes, they should but because of that split affiliation with florida, they get shafted...

i read somewheres that taylor and novotny were signed elsewhere.... im looking for sources...

edit* found this from syracuse.com
.
Taylor said Columbus contacted him a couple of times in late July, when he still could have opted out of the Germany deal. Taylor said he would have seriously considered coming to Syracuse, but the Blue Jackets never got back to him in time with an offer. Now, Taylor is locked into Germany and he's leaving Saturday.

as far as novotny goes, he is unsigned as well

Can you produce a link or anything, Skate? I am seriously confused on the whole Stafford situation, because I remember it being said he had signed his pro contract, but I can't find an article to substantiate that, either. I'm confused!
