View Full Version : Bills are two pieces of the puzzle short

I honestly feel that general manager marv Levy has done an excellent job of rebuilding this team with an influx of speed and youth (despite a lot of harsh criticism). However, to be competitive in this league I feel that the most import aspect is the ability (or inability of the Bills last year) to dictate the line of scrimmage. Our offensive line is far from superb; however, we have had some improvements on the interior. We will be better than last year but still not great. The aspect of this team that really worries me is the defensive line. We still need a starting caliber DE to go alongside Schobel. Our DT's are better, but we still need a big quick DT to play in 1st down, goal line, and red zone situations. I am just in shock that Marv would do such a good job of rebuilding this team and then stop and he was so close to completing the task. I, unfortunately, once again, foresee a very average pass rush on third on third down, and a run defense that gets overpowered in the red zone and gashed up the middle on occasion. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Two pieces of the puzzle?

A yucky realist would say that means offense and defense.

A yucky Canadian realist would say offence and defence.

That's why we don't hang with 'em anymore.

It is so over.

Then it should be evident to you, Mr. Realist, that we know your thoughts before you even think 'em.

Here's another tidbit of intel.
We can track your posts to a one square meter location.

ENJOY YOUR DINNER THIS EVENING.
I'M SURE IT WILL BE AN EXCITING TIME AT THE RESTARAUNT.

well just like I said earlier about what Patrick was trying to do with his 2nd "division winners" thread, it's not that difficult to figure out what my opinions and comments will be like by reading the thousands of posts I have here.

In my Opinion we actually have 2 extra pieces. We should be fine.

new owner- I wouldn't mind

new city- that would be the only thing that would make me stop rooting for this team.

1. Run defense
2. Pass protection

Gimme those two, and the rest will take care of itself and we'll be in decent shape. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe either of those will be better than last year.

The schedule wasn't the problem last year. The team was.

No TD and MM we're the root of the problems, the harder schedule just helped.

Better? How the hell do you figure that?

Look at two examples last year, Oakland and Atlanta. Were they formidable opponents on paper? Yet they ran right through us and killed us with long drives. We could not stop a power running game last year. How has that changed?

Blame TD of course, but most of his team is back.
