Here's my question....how come I can hardly find ANY Donte Whitner cards? He was the 8th pick of the draft and should at least have a few different autographed cards out.

I think, because the Bills "overreached" for Whitner, he wasn't included in many of the early NFL releases, which were produced before the draft. They usually try to anticipate the early picks, and the higher profile college players...you think Whither cards are scarce, try finding a John McCargo...

So far, to my knowledge, the only autographed Whitner card is from the newly released (on July 7th!) Donruss Classics set. They are shorter priointed than the other, already short printed rookie autograph cards. As far as I understand, the bulk of the rookie autos in the set, are limited to 1499 cards...but a handful (Whitner included) are limited to somewhere between 100 and 400. I have seen a few on Ebay, and they are selling anywhere from $35-45...a hot card, considering his position, the team he plays for, etc etc.

Cool thing about the Whitner auto card though, he is in his Bills practice jersey, wearing a Bills helmet, and his #36 practice jersey...most of the other auto rookies are in their college uniforms.
