    ESPN Article

    7. Where are the veteran quarterbacks?
An unusual amount of teams will be pinning their hopes on young signal callers -- J.P. Losman (Buffalo), Philip Rivers (San Diego), Charlie Frye (Cleveland), Alex Smith (San Francisco), Rex Grossman (Chicago), and Billy Volek (Tennessee) are all talented guys under tremendous pressure.

Most NFL coaches will tell you the ability to be strong mentally and handle the emotional roller-coaster of the position is key to the success of NFL quarterbacks. It will be interesting to see which of these youngsters succeeds.

I like none of them. I predict this will be Martys last year in SD.

Who wants to bet Grossman doesn't make it past preseason?

Volek isn't even that young. The guy's 30.

I think he, Frye and Losman will be the three best from that group --in no specific order.

I don't think Volek is in a good situation with Vince waiting in the wings, the same goes for Rex with Greise.

I don't think Alex Smith is good enough for the NFL so that leaves our guy to be the best of the bunch.

voleck was rock solid in his previous starts and should easily be the best of that bunch this season

and if its about mental toughness i honestly like jps chances. i have been extremely impressed with his mature viewpoints in a very difficult sitionation. i suspect hes got sam wyches number on speed dial cuz i can still hear sam talk when jps lips move. thats a good thing btw
