The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL's Portland Pirates, announced today that they have signed goaltender Michael Leighton to a one-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed. Leighton, 25, is 90-74-18 with 20 shutouts in 187 career AHL games with Rochester and Norfolk. He earned a spot on the AHL's All-Rookie Team and played in the AHL All-Star Game in 2002.

well it didn't help leightons cause that half the team was from florida, and half from buffalo.
anyways...... good luck to him and maybe someone else can come up thru the ranks, except when they play syracuse of course :-)
