The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed free agent centre Michael Peca (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player_bio.asp?player_id=93) to a one year deal worth $2.5 million US.

The twoparties have been courting each other for well over a week with both camps agreeing Toronto is a good fit for the 11-year NHL centre.

The 32-year-old Toronto native, a two-time Selke Trophy winner as the NHL's top defensive forward, makes his off-season home in Buffalo, making Toronto an ideal geographical location.

Did Marcy & Mike make up?

I would suppose to. otherwise there would be fistfights galore in the locker room.

How can Pecker head play with Tucker he's the one that injured Peca in the Stanley Cup Playoffs a couple years ago. This will be very interesting to see what happens.

Peca will probably say that Tucker is the kind of player everyone wants on their team and he's glad that he is finally not playing against him. He'll also probably say something about looking forward to playing with him.

Do we really hate Peca that much for leaving town? I can't blame him much for not budging, what with "Operation Tightass" being in effect during those years, because of the Rigass debacle. Maybe I'm just thinking without the black & red goggles about it?

Most players who jump ship get booed, no matter what team it is.

I like it

Booing them is one thing, but to HATE the player for leaving? I still stand that it wasn't 100% Mike's fault. But like I had said before in my prior post, I don't see the entire NHL through black & red goggles (Although 3/4 of the NHL wears black & red! :D :D)---I'm able to acknowledge talent outside of Buffalo, and don't immediately bash another player, coach, or team just because they're not associated with the Sabres.

You're right, Skate---He did that. But again, how much of that was Peca, and how much of that was the cheapskate ways of the organization, thanks to the Rigass debacle?
