    Coach's tenure beats NFL odds

Lester, a defensive assistant for the Buffalo Bills, is the longest-tenured coach on the team. He came here in 1987 to work for still-new head coach Marv Levy; since then, he's worked for four more coaches.

Lester is a survivor in an industry that thrives on turnover, a confidante of those who count in an organization where, until the legendary Levy returned last winter to stabilize a wobbling franchise, trust had been a fleeting commodity.

"I have a servant attitude," Lester says. "I'm going to help out and do whatever is necessary for us to win."

    Good attitude!

Good people, I guess we'll hear he is a homer for supporting the team.

No, you won't. Why? Because that's his job.
