Remember the security guard who got hurt in the Chiefs Game?

A security guard who was watching the crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium when two players bowled him over last season said he is suing the Buffalo Bills because of a knee injury he suffered in the accident.

Bill Austin, 49, of Wheatfield, was on the sideline when Bills wide receiver Lee Evans, who had just caught a touchdown pass, and Kansas City cornerback Eric Warfield rolled off the field and into him Nov. 13.

In the good ole' US of A, anybody can sue anybody for any reason. But I'm surprised that this guy didn't sign a waiver, or have something in his contract, that would hold the Bills harmless for certain types of injury, including this one.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

He knew the risks going into the job. Its not like the conditions caught him off guard. Just another way for lawyers and someone taking advantage of the system.

Didn't the Bills pay for his medical? I thought that they did....

You're probably right, because apparently he is suing the Bills for "pain and suffering" - not his medical bills - due to the team's "negligence."

He's a typical greedy bastard with an even more typical greedy bastard lawyer.

If the Bills paid for his medical and he made enough of a recovery that he is still able to work. He doesn't deserve anything else IMO.

I'm stunned the Barnes Firm is not representing this guy. They love suits like this one.

So what is the negilgence going to be? Let's see...not installing a concrete wall on the sidelines so that the receivers, who are running at full speed, hit it like a bugs on a windshield? If you are anywhere on the field during play you assume a risk. The only thing that I can see is mandating employees to wear ***** helmets and pads like the players. Otherwise there is no physical barrier you can construct without endangering the players.

His knee is still screwed up. The bills told him he isn't coming back. And there was supposed to be a spotter to tell him to move.
