Would you give up a 3rd for Greg Ellis?

This was reported today on Cold Pizza that Dallas was shopping Greg Ellis who is unhappy about his role in the Cowboys 3-4 defense and wants to go to a team that plays 4-3.

    The Good

He's averaged 8 sacks a year for the past 4 years, he's a former top 10 pick and he's solid against the run. Hard worker, solid in the community and never been in any trouble. Clearly an upgrade vs. Dennelsay.

    The Bad

He's 31 and he'll be looking for a bump in his presently reasonable salary. Since we're rebuilding he may be kinda old. Hate to give up draft picks and it will take a 3rd to land him.

I'd probably vote "no" but it's worth a thought.

31 year old DEs don't have the speed anymore. No thanks.

I'll wait for the much younger - and lighter - Kelsay to have his breakout season.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

God, how can we get only a 5th rounder for Moulds when every other team is asking for high picks in return for very average players?

Asking isn't the same as getting.
