If they're on the PUP list, they don't count against the number brought to camp, do they?

Obvious abuse of the system, IMO.

Hate to see anyone get hurt, but I agree that this is more about getting more bodies into camp and not about REAL injuries.

I cant wait till the day that the Bills are sooooo good that we dont care who is hurt on the other team!

The Jets seem to be doing the same thing. I think Curtis Martin is among the PUP.

That's correct:

Jets running back Curtis Martin won't practice when training camp opens Friday because of a lingering knee injury.

Martin was placed on the physically unable to perform list Thursday, along with receiver Justin McCareins and center Trey Teague.

Just read the Thomas Jones injury story, he went on PUP and can come off anytime. Its on NFL.com

Typical Belichick, playing the system for all it's worth. I would put NO positive emphasis on all these PUP list assignments.

I think the main thing to rejoice is NE's significant off season losses, their age at a number of key positions, and the coaching staff turnover the last few years.
