[The Jets] don't plan to exercise a $3.5 million option on linebacker Sam Cowart unless he renegotiates. If the Jets execute Cowart's option, he would have a six-year, $31 million deal. They want him to make less than $5 million a year.

Goes to show you Donahoe knows what he's doing. Cowart isn't worth the money to kick in the next bonus, and we get London Fletcher out of it, and a great price.

Yeah, we did but he didn't like it because of the way it was structured. Overall it was a better deal than he settled for with the Jets so I'd say there are few of us really shedding tears over his departure. If he takes less to go elsewhere, he simply didn't want to be here.Comment
