For all of you "Holcomb as the starter" fans

Having three QBs sharing repetitions is no way to install a new offense. NFL coaches race against the clock in training camp, trying to get their systems in place and their teams ready for the season. It can't help to have this sort of uncertainty at the sport's most vital position.
Losman has been sharp in minicamps. He's the best athlete of the three. He's 25 years old. Many of the veterans who were resentful when he was handed the job last summer are gone. Losman has more a greater sense of being among his peers. He's no longer the cocky interloper, but one of many young players on a unproven offense.
Lee Evans, the one receiver who seemed compatible with Losman a year ago, has been elevated to No. 1. Eric Moulds, who was among Losman's main detractors, is gone. The rest of the receivers are guys who need to prove they belong in the NFL, same as Losman.
So it's a good situation for a young quarterback who is looking to find his way. The Bills aren't going anywhere this season. They need to stop pretending they're a playoff contender and position themselves for the future. Kelly Holcomb has his virtues. But the Bills are going nowhere with Holcomb as the starter. They panicked and made him the starter a year ago, in a vain and misguided attempt to save the jobs of Donahoe and Mike Mularkey. In doing so, they forfeited a precious half-season of Losman's development.

Sullivan got it right for once.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

He left out the part about Mularkey and Donahoe over-estimating JP's ability to step into the starting line-up and the premature release of Drew Bledsoe.

How absolutely foolish the Bills are to miss the opportunity to hire someone so erudite and informed.
          Screw these stupid "journalists."

          Shut up and report.

The guy is an idiot as far as I'm concerned. This is old news. There is a competition for a reason. And if he had been to the practices he would know that Nall was playing the best of the three when he got hurt. He should write a story about the competition. That's the news. How does Nall's injury impact it? Will Losman take advantage? Did Losman take advantage (today)? Etc.

PS. If Losman doesn't step it up he'll have trouble beating out Holcomb, much less Nall.
