How about they eliminate all offside calls in OT, and play till someone scores? Now that would be interesting. Or eliminate it during the last 5 mins of the third period as well.
No OT ties, sudden death, win or lose.

I hate ties more than anything. I'd watch so much more hockey if I knew a game wouldn't end in a tie.

In the ECHL they play a four on four 5 minute overtime then go to a shootout if no one scores in overtime. It gets quite exciting and the fans don't leave until the very end as a result.

I don't like shootouts personally, but i'd be for at least taking away the red line for OT.

I don't see where they have a choice but to skate to ties. They play too many games and often a team has a game on the next night. They could end up playing two games in one night.

But how about taking away the blue line? Who wouldn't like to see that, that would be nuts!

I'd like it. Maybe they could try it out in preseason.

I was at the Habs game last night and I was cheering for OT. I love watching 4 on 4 hockey. Its wide open out there. However, you can't change the integrity of this game by removing red lines or eliminating offsides. What they should do is move the nets back to where they were about 10 yrs ago...which was 9 feet from the back boards. Its now at 11 feet i believe. That would open up 4 extra feet of neutral zone...or 320 (4*80) square feet.

I've always been for moving the nets back, and reinstituting delayed offsides. But just like the Aflac Duck, I am always ignored.

 I've got a better idea ? Why don't we put little sensors in the puck so you can see it better on TV with a little red or blue "trail" ?

Oh, sorry, that's been done

It isn't a pond hockey league.

The offside rule is as good as it's going to get.
