    BillsZone Training Camp Report 8/2/2006

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Gallery Saturday, August 2, 2006
We are now on Day 5 of Buffalo Bills Training camp. The players came out without pads today, after a full pad practice last night. The Buffalo Bills practiced on the grass fields this morning, so they had the breeze and the shade from the trees to help cool them off a bit. It definitely helped keep the fans cooler as many of them sat on the grass and relaxed as they enjoyed watching their favorite team practice. As usual, the team worked on the individual drills, 7-on-7, 11-on-11, special teams and this time added in a 2-minute drill. It was a slow pace at practice today, but that was to be expect, with the heat and the fact that they just practiced about 14 hours earlier.

        Thanks Mike.

Tell me again how the breeze is generated from the trees...

Same old story, inconsistent/mediocre play by the QB's and defenders who cannot get an INT.

That's no knock on you Mikey. Thanks for the info buddy.

              Good stuff man.

I hope you hit it on the head with your last sentence. I don't want to make excuses for these guys, but it seems accurate, given how 'crisp' they looked last night. I couldn't even BE outside for any length of time today, so how they run around in this stuff, I have no idea.

                Thanks mike for the update.

                I can see one thing...

This QB battle is for the dang birds! all it is doing is screwing up both QBs haveing to split all the reps... neither is ever going to get into the swing of things if they are in and out on every other damn play.

JP is frustrated cause neither can get into a rythm... how the heck are you supposed to develope a feel for your recievers if you are out watching every second play.

                This is completly BUSH LEAGUE!

Good point! I thought it was bad before when it was split between 3, now with it split between 2, you are seeing..... 2 running plays, 1 passing play for JP, 2 running plays, 1 passing play for Holcomb, 1 passing play for JP, 2 passing plays for Holcomb, 3 passing plays for JP. I could see why he's frustrated. You cant get any rhythm going.

Great job as usual, Mikey. It's amazing to me that you can get so much detail. I've been to camp, and there's so much going on, and things are moving so fast, that it's really hard to see - and capture - as much as you do.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Hey Mikey- 2 questions. Was the OL bad when Holcomb was playing or was JP the only one getting pressured?

Also, what's with all the INT's being dropped? It seems like it happens every day. The D better do some receiving drills if they want to create any turnovers.
