8:29 PT: Updating previous stories, Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com reports the Atlanta Falcons are close to reaching an agreement with LB Keith Brooking. Barring a last minute breakdown, Brooking should agree to a six-year deal that could give him a signing bonus near $10 million.

Brian H, you owe me a sig bet as soon as the papers are signed.

he wouldnt have fit here anyway..

The bet was made if he was a free agent which is isn't now so I guess the bet is voided because I bet if he was a FA he would sign with Buffalo.....

ya, Brooking would not have worked here. He is in the right situation for himself in Atlanta. good sign on both sides.

This is a good thing cause it will set the $ numbers for other LB's to sign by. I see Spikes signing for something similar

Difference is, Brooking wants to be in Atlanta... Spikes doesn't want to be in Cincy. Looks like Colvin will be free as well.

10:50 PT: Updating earlier stories, ChicagoBears.com reports the Chicago Bears have decided to pay LB Warrick Holdman the $3 million roster bonus he is due as of March 1st. By paying the bonus, the Bears are opening the door for LB Rosevelt Colvin to leave via free agency.

oooohhhhhhhhh Tatonka had his own deal. The Bills wont sign him. The bet is still on. Sounds like Brian H might have to change his slogan too.

Yea I changed my sig even tho I felt I shouldnt the whole surrounded the possibility of Brooking being a free agent which is now isn't so the bet should be off but oh well ...
