View Full Version : Boom or Bust?

I started a thread elsewhere similar to this the last time Buffalo had two first round draft picks...

It's been my impression over the years that many times when an NFL team has more than one pick in the first round, one player usually does well, the other craps out. In the Bill's most recent case, Evans looks like he could be a star in the league, and the jury is still out on JP, so the results for Buffalo at this point are still 'incomplete'.

As for the 2006 draft, we all know both Whitner and McCargo were first round picks. In your opinion, if the boom/bust scenario were to play out, which player is most likely to succeed, and which is most likely to not live up to expectations? Why?

I bet Jim Kelly is successful, and that Tony Hunter craps out!

Now what do I win?

The "Hindsight is 20/20 Award for Dumb-Asses". When you receive the actual trophy, I expect you place it in a spot of high esteem, like on the mantle in between your framed, autographed pictures of Barry Manilow and Hillary Clinton.

I'll bet Jerry Butler is an All-Pro, and that Cousineau never plays a down for the Bills.

It's a long shot, I Know!

You're bucking the trend as proven by your many previous posts.
