Agreed. They did it because he doesn't fit here. The extra money will hopefully get used next year.

it does free up money for next year at least when we have a few guys to sign and maybe bring in a REAL LEFT TACKLE. just think maybe marv can right a wrong and bring in mount mckinnie like we whould have with the 4th pick in 2001

People get released at the last minute by their teams, sometimes right before the season is to begin. Might be over a holdout or contract dispute and we pay for them.

But were already something ridiculous like 10-12 mil under and so are most of the other teams.

Oh, well is being more under a bad thing?

beyond a certain point, yes- it means we may have been able to get some better FA's.

I don't see Buffalo picking up any more players (unless injuries ravage a single position) except for possibly a cheap, journeyman back-up or recently cut rookie/second-year player that they may have their eye on for depth.

MARV had better get out the checkbook. You just read my mind on MCKINNIE!! He's definately going to be a FA looking for a new team!!

Yeah Marv's gonna pay a ton for him.

Say how much do boat rentals go for in buffalo? Do they come with the hookers already on board?

Which makes up for giving a jerkoff a $1.3 million signing bonus to be a third string QB

honestly, if they are so in building chemistry, why not lock up our own guys first? We have the room to resign Clements and throw a big chunk of the money into this year(front loading it). Consider two things about it, his franchise tender is huge already so him signing will not cost us an additional $10 mil this year. We are also going to get a BUNCH of dead cap space back next year for signing FAs next year(mainly due to Moulds and Big Mike's contracts). So we could wrap up Nate and some other young guys for the future with decent deals and still be able to be active next offseason for FA.

p.s. I like McKinnie as a good LT, but will the FO like his character and how will he cost if L. Bentley got $36mil and Hutchinson got $49 mil for Center and LG spots? Will he command the type of money that Walter Jones and Orlando Pace are getting now that the Salary Cap has soared and contracts are skyrocketing for Free Agents?

There aren't any impact players left out ther Skoob.

And any players that may get released aren't gonna be impact players. If any players were gonna be released this year over money then it would've happened on June 1st and there wasn't any this year. No teams are hurting for money this season.

Skoob is either not all there or on some good stuff. Might be a little bit of both.

I'd like to add a veteran DE to the mix if we could, I'm not satisfied with what we have now. Or perhaps a Vet at either LG or LT for depth a la Marcus Price?

Which begs the question, "Who?" There really is not much out there at this point in time. Probably the highest quality free agent available right now is. . . Jeff Posey!
