    Fairchild Brings his own show

PITTSFORD - Mike Martz is the glitziest connection on the resume of Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild.
The former St. Louis Rams head coach - the conductor of the famed "Greatest Show on Turf" - coached Fairchild in junior college in the late 1970s. Martz also mentored Fairchild the past three years in St. Louis, where Fairchild was his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Don't, however, expect the Bills to become the St. Louis Rams East.

The 47-year-old Fairchild doesn't see that being a good fit.

I liked the article -- and Fairchild's assessment of how to play in the AFC East. A good running game can go in any weather, but it's pretty tough to pass into a 40 mph wind off Lake Erie!
The Bills have only had 17 playoff years and 19 winning seasons in 47 years. 9 of those playoff years and 10 of those winning seasons -- and the 4 Super Bowl appearances -- came in the 15 years when Bill Polian and John Butler were Bills GMs ... and Ralph Wilson fired them both.
