Since when is a career backup given the starting nod based on age and seniority?

Jauron went on to say that the decision (to start Holcomb) was based on age and seniority.
Give me a freaking break. You're going to start a career loser over a possible franchise QB because the career loser is older??? Someone needs to tell the Bills that old does not necessarily equal good. I know it's only the first preseason game, but this gives me a bad feeling about the coaching staff (of whom I have been supportive) and the upcoming season.

Marv, at 82, may feel it's unfair to discriminate against Holcomb due to his age.

Its a QB competition. It wont be solved until atleast the 2nd preseason game. They both will get the chance to start. Its best for Losman fans that he doesnt play against Carolina on the road if you want him to win the job. Home against a weaker defense should win him the job.

Nall Ball!! 3rd preseason game starter.

I think/hope this is all a ploy to make JP really earn this spot and earn the respect of his teammates.

I told you he was starting. Wait til Holcomb starts week 1. And you think you are annoyed now. I'm telling you that Jauron doesn't have a pair when it's comes to the QB situation.

And the warts start to shine through! Jauron has made the first wrong decision and I think it's a pretty big one. We need to know what Losman can do against first team defenses, not the 2nd & 3rd teamers. We know what we have in Holcomb...a noodle arm that will do just enough to lose. Is anybody starting to hate Holcomb?

It's starting the first preseason game. I don't read much of anything into this at all.

Personally, I won't think of it as a big one until JP doesn't get the start against Cincy next week. I'd much rather have JP start each preseason game but if this QB competition is just a charade to appease some vets, I'll live with one start by the mediocre one...so long as it's only the one. JP gets the start next week and locks up the job.

How hard is this to comprehend?

It's been well publicized that both JP, Holcomb, and even Nall would be given opportunities to win the starting job for the season. Nall got hurt so he's out of the running for a while.

This is all part of the process. Each guy will get equal time the first two games. If anything- a strong argument can be made that JP has the advantage of playing against weaker competition at home.
