    NOTHING will ever change

.. as long as we have QB's making 3 yard throws on 3rd and 11.

    That is all.

I never expected our Qb's to go deep often. You don't want your wr's to go full speed during a preseason game where they can get hurt.

I'm not worried about going deep unless it's KH at qb.

Totally disagree. A punt is worthless in a pre-season game. With a turnover, you get to see how your defense will react to a short field. There is absolutely no excuse for checking down on 3rd and long. Throw it to the single coverage and let your guy make a play.

That makes no sense at all, if the play is called for a short pass on 3rd and 11 why does it matter whose in at QB? The point of the thread was to talk about the playcalling not the QB, but way to go and make it like every other thread

If the play called calls for the QB to throw it short of the first down, he changes the play or makes an adjustment that makes sense...or he does if he has any common sense. Holcomb's the guy who can't get it through his head that 1st downs are a good thing.

On 3rd and long there will always be at least on guy running a short pattern. Not everybody can go deep. He will be used if everybody is covered and will be given a chance to make a play.

It is a better choice than throwing a pick.

                  it's a little better...but on 4th down, it's pretty much a wash

Yes becasue we all know Holcomb is incompetent of making any adjustments at all. At no time last season did he make one audible or one check down, or one throw away from a primary receiver that was for a first down. Get out of here, if the play call is set up for the primary receiver to go short on a 3rd deep player chances are he'll be open and hit with the pass. Its vanilla playcalling nothing more and nothing less.

4th and 7 ...4 yards...it was a mental error of the greatest magnitude. We had to have that conversion for a chance at winning the game. In that situation, it would've been just as good if not better to try to force the ball into tight coverage. At least that way, it would look like we were actually trying to win the game rather than give up

Kingsbury's still young...so he's still learning..so he just has to learn the right way and he can be fine.

Unfortunately one play does not make or break a game there a many plays that could go differently that would change that situation. Its a similar school of thought as to that a player does not win or lose a game the team does.
