Losman Plays Chess with Fowler

LOSMAN-FOWLER BATTLE: Apparently there is one competition that Losman is losing right now and it's to center Melvin Fowler in chess. When asked about it last night Losman said.

“Melvin Fowler was on the chess team at Maryland. His mom told me that and spilled the beans and I can’t compete with that. He gave me a little chess book to get better so I’m going to peek into that every once in a while and see if I can beat him.”



Good to see him bonding in other ways with his o-line. Again maturity and recognizing the importance of that QB - O-line relationship.

yeah he is. I love the maturity that he is finally showing. Very impressive. He must have talked with Jim Kelly a lot during the offseason.

Yeah because they were able to provide some protection for him. Thats something we are still waiting on from this OL

I think it's not just "JP getting it". I think it's more JP actually "being one of the guys" this season. The special treatment that Losman got last year from the coaching staff -- not getting yelled at when he made a mistake, having a special coach, etc -- put up a wall of resentment between Losman and his teammates that's not there with DJ's coaching staff.
