For the first time in 47 years, Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson will not attend training camp for the football team he founded in 1960.

Wilson says he is disappointed that he won't be able to visit the team at St. John Fisher College or attend this week's preseason home game against the Bengals.
Wilson, 87, said he is staying home in Gross Pointe Shores, Mich., because of a bad back that he aggravated while playing tennis.

I was wondering what happened to him. Hopefully he is okay. Because I have never seen him miss camp. :(

Good question.

Sounds like he means a small step towards a new ownership and new era for the Bills.

If that's the case, then for once, I agree with him.

I doubt that this is tennis/back related... maybe his back does hurt, he is 87... but i bet there is something else going on.

Staying physically active might be the reason that he has lived as long as he has.

That is a speculative statement. The Sabres went bankrupt and ended up a d man or 2 short of a stanley cup berth this past year. A real business man took over that team w/ real world talents, not $35,000 45 years ago in a day long since past. Think if the knox's still owned the Sabres we would be in the same place? I doubt.

Skoobs of course I am speculating. Everyone here is speculating on some thing or another.

but think aboot this, the money needed to buy the Sabres is a lot less than it will be for the Bills.

Your right about the amount needed but the Bills also cash flow and aren't part of a BK. The marketing of the Bills is almost non-existent and current efforts to draw in new moeny is weak at best. Sounds like we're standing around waiting for something to happen. Do you remember the Buzz about the Sabres, I had people in FL that we're like wow the Sabres have a really good team. Most of those people never even witnessed a hockey game but they Sabres were such a suprise and noticed that non-hockey people had knowledge.
