They will grant his release. I almost bet that this week sometime DJ says JP is the man, followed up by holcombs release.

Releasing Holcomb costs the Bills $100K. Unless he's a lockerroom cancer, no point in cutting him.

He is and they should.

He should be gone. Give someone who wants a chance of being part of a TEAM to take his place.

It would not surprise me in the least.

Knock,knock...Turk calling. They won't cut him unless someone better is available.

Just ask the Jets how valuable 3rd string QBs are.

The Bills went into this knowing that Losman. Nall, & JP were their guys. It doesn't matter which is the 2nd or 3rd stringer. They budgeted for all 3, and unless there is a pressing need or a better player- they will stand pat.

The Bills won't make the #3 guy a younger QB. They want an experienced journeyman. If someone fits the Bill as cheap or cheaper- they might. But KH has a lot of the playbook in his head- it would take a lot to get rid of him.

Any suggestions on veteran backups?

I think he stays also...whether he's #2 or #3 will depend on how Nall performs the rest of the pre-season, and what transpires after the real games start.

I have a feeling that Holcomb will ask Jauron to cut him if Nall gets the #2 spot.

Did Holcomb cause problems last year? And I'd find it hard to believe that Holcomb could find a starting gig this late in the year, much less a backup job that would pay as much as the Bills are giving him this year. So I doubt he asks for his release.

I still like him as strickly a backup, as well as Nall.

From what I read on the Brown's site (thanks to Philster) Holcomb was campaigning with the veterans in Cleveland producing the same QB conroversy. The same thing happened here in Buffalo last year. Although I can't prove he's a "cancer" I don't think he understands his role as a backup when he's on the bench. Being one of the ones to post that I thought he was one of the better pick ups in FA when we got him I have made a complete 180 on this guy. I won't miss him.

I'm sure the Bills can pick up someone to replace him. I'd rather not have him on the team just for the sake of ending all speculation. As long as he roams that bench there will be people calling for him.

Interesting note. When Holcomb came into the game on Friday I was pretty sure I heard the majority of the Ralph boo him. Before that, I thought that Bills fans were split 50/50 on the Holcomb/Losman deal. I guess not.
