The Illinois Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way for continued construction at Soldier Field, rejecting opponents' arguments that a renovation deal struck between the city and Chicago Bears unconstitutionally benefitted a private entity at public expense.
Two years ago, the General Assembly quickly passed a law to allow an existing hotel tax to be used for the project, to which the Bears also are contributing.
