Bills WR Price misses practice
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Bills receiver Peerless Price was missing from the team's scheduled practice Sunday afternoon, two days after being held without a catch for the second consecutive preseason game.
Coach Dick Jauron was unavailable for comment following the light workout, but will address the situation on Monday.
Bills spokesperson Scott Berchtold said that Price was "absent."
Price, Buffalo's second-round pick in the 1999 draft, signed with the Bills as a free agent in April after spending three disappointing seasons with Atlanta and Dallas. He has been battling Josh Reed most of training camp for Buffalo's No. 2 receiver position behind Lee Evans.

I'm not thrilled with him or Josh Reed.

Unless he is hurt I don't understand this. We've only played two preseason games. Is he giving up already because of limited success so far? Doesn't make sense.

Evans is going to have a terrible year if 1 of other WRs can't step it up to mediocre status.

Evans is going to have a terrible year for a multitude of reasons.

Has Price even had the ball thrown his way once yet during the preseason games?

No. JP has a lot more chemistry with other guys on the team.

I think he was underthrown on an out pattern and never had a chance to catch it. It might have been by JP.

Might be a family issue, relax everyone.

I agree that it could be personal.

It would be hard to cut someone for not catching a ball when that person hasn't even had a chance to catch a ball.

And I had great chemistry with Cap Boso on Tecmo Bowl.

Could be a personal issue. Youboty has been missing for a few days because of a death in the family.

Then again he might have flat walked.

Correct, and it was JP.

He better not quit...I'll have to get his authentic jersey renamed.

So was the 43 yard touchdown pass to Evans.

Like: "Daddy's home from Buffalo and he ain't going back. Now have another toy with that bonus money those old guys gave me."

I hope it's personal and he didn't walk. It would be a shame for him and a waste of money for the Bills.

this is the angst created when your best WR gets cut over money (and attitude probably)

If he does quit, would it really matter? Some of you guys were bragging about your "depth" at wideout.

Price was wide open with Evans on that long bomb TD that JP threw. And later-on JP short-hopped a pass to him where he was open as well. He's still a valuable WR and I'd hate to see him go.

What I have heard about his comments on coming back to buffalo, this would be shocking if he quit but i'm betting it's a personal issue.

According to a pretty reliable source, Peerless said it was a scheduling mistake by him and is already back. Take it for what it's worth, but this person has no axe, and is fairly close to the players.

I don't know what source you're refering to, but Christ Brown confirns that in his blog at the official Bills' site.

From what I've seen and heard, he's been good in practice, but not really utilized in the first 2 games. Why would he be gone?
