This is scary to me. I'm watching the Destroyers game tonight on Empire, and I'm actually starting to like it.

You should have seen the hit the 2000 LB Buffalo D man laid on the 110 LB Georgia guy. Reminded me of Sestak laying out Lincoln. I mean he crushed the guy. Baaammm.
Now that was football. It was like a 300LB garbage pail full of water hitting a 180 LB man. 300LB garbage can wins. WOW.

Did you see that Philster?

BTW, I have to admit, I like this coach. He has a small stuttering problem, but he gets this team ready to play, and they play hard for him. I respect that bigtime.

Yep...who do you think puts up all the Destroyers info in the Sports Bar? :D

It looks like the Destroyers have their first real head coach.

Dave Whinham- I remember the hype about how he was going to build a first class team when he was hired by Hamister. A 1-17 record later, the team had burned away alot of its initial novelty fan support.

Ray Bentley- talked a good game, but did not deliver.

I watched a good amount of tonight's game- best game I've ever seen the Destroyers play. I might have to go to my first arena football game this year.

Hopefully Hamister won't pull the plug on the team in light of what's occurred w/ the Sabres deal. I think the team, if it starts winning on a regular basis and keeps tix prices reasonable, can draw close to 10,000 on average. It's been such a poor team over its history it's no surprise that attendance and interest lagged.

I'm thinking of going myself. I want front row seats at the goal line. How do I get tickets?

call (716)881-4444 or order online at Tickets.com (http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=BUFF_DESTROYERS&organ_val=1584&event_val=03DES) . Tickets.com outlets are available all over the place at all area Tops supermarkets. Tops locations (http://www.tickets.com/b2b/new_york_outlets.html)
Unfortunately, all front row tickets are sold out according to Destroyers.com (http://www.buffalodestroyers.com/tickets.html) but there are plenty of other graet seats available. Last year I went to a few Destroyers games and sat right behind the Destroyers bench. They normally sit where the Sabres sit (in front of section 104 and 105) The other area, where the Sabres opponents sit, is Mark Hamister's private box where he has a few people there with him. The Destroyers' opposition gets to sit in the penalty box. :D

Looks like the Destroyers have themselves a hot shot receiver. I wonder if he could be NFL material.

Reggie Allen all over again

Twyner's been pretty solid in the AFL but I don't see him joining the NFL

Another Arena League fan here... :laughter: The Predators are my favorite Arena team and I've been to some games here, which are a blast; the Storm is my second-favorite.

It, along with the NFL Europe, gives me a bit of a football fix to help sustain me through the loooonnnnngggg NFL offseason.

How are you gonna handle it with Gruden being out for the season, Paka?

Sucks bigtime... :( But luckily, according to this, Jay's ankle doesn't look to be nearly as bad as thought originally, and he may actually return this season-

http://www.arenafootball.com/around_the_afl/afl_headlines/343258.html

I was hearing early on that they thought the ankle was broken in two places!

BTW, we are VERY lucky to be undefeated right now... :laughter: The refs totally handed us the game against the Storm a few weeks ago, ruling a couple turnovers that should have won the game for Tampa Bay not turnovers.

The_Philster

Well....maybe we can end that undefeated streak for you on the 8th. ;)

Paka
02-25-2003, 06:45 PM
Well, you guys don't play the Preds until April 11th... hope we're still undefeated then! The game you guys play against the Storm on March 8th should be a good one too though; the Storm is 2-2, but both losses were very close ones.

Turn in your AFL pledge pin, son. You have disgraced the league.

I think I can get away with it this time ;)

You two... :snicker2:

Phil, don't give it a second thought; I had to check the schedule myself, I ALWAYS forget what games are coming up. :laughter:
