Jim Kelley was a guest on Sunday Sports Final on WKBWTV and he says that he's talked with Miller's agent, and his agent says Miller wants Brodeur type :$:. http://www.nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerBiography.asp?ID=643 Brodeur makes 5,200,000/season plus he has a no trade clause in his contract. Looks like we're going to be keeping Biron.
The Sabres and Miller continue negotiations on a new contract. Miller is a restricted free agent.
Miller's agent, Mike Liut, tells channel 2 that discussions are taking place on both long, and short term contracts. What's signficant is that earlier in the summer, G-M Darcy Regier had indicated Miller was interested in a shorter term deal, with the ability to become an unrestricted free agent in two seasons. Monday, Liut said Miller would potentially be interested in going long term with Buffalo.
Liut did not indicate how close the sides are to reaching an agreement.
