My Homeboys up in Rochester just bought an old "short bus" and they painted it and are in the process of turning it into the ultimate tailgate machine. Thought I would post some pics.

You need to host your image on photobucket or something, you can't direct link like that to your hard drive.

Just wondering...if there was a bus that represented your childhood, would it be covered in pictures of your Uncle Steve's penis?

I've actually thought of doing a similar project. Something with a drop down grill, plasma TVs, built in coolers and satellite TV.

We all used to have season tix, and it makes sense. The Bus has a lot to do with my decision to move back. Once they told me it was a done deal, there is no way I can't come back for that. Now, we all ride up together, with everything ready to go! It's brilliant.

Length: 221.4 inches

Hydraulics: There are three pumps powering five cylinders: the first pump powers the two rear doors (each with one cylinder); the second powers the side window (each with one cylinder); and the third powers the rear hatch with one cylinder. Separate pumps were required because each action required a different pressure setting.
Moving Parts: Includes motorized platforms for the grill and bar/serving counter, and hydraulic cylinders for the rear hatch, rear doors and rear windows — all of which are remote-controlled.
Special Welds: Special welds were required for the handmade stainless-steel grill firebox and flame spout, the mount and brackets for the 42-inch plasma TV, the tracks for the grill and bar platforms, the platform extension for the propane tank and the metal-tubing frame for the window-speaker housing.
Additional Acquired or Machined Parts: Includes auto parts, audio and video equipment, and beverage-related items.
Auto parts: dual alternator kit
* second battery
* 110-volt power inverters
* front axle brake kit
* two power window motors for grill and bar

Audio Equipment: 2,000-watt digital bass amp
* 1,200-watt full range amp
* 10-inch subwoofers
* 6-inch by 9-inch speakers
* 6-inch by half-inch speakers

Video Equipment: 42-inch plasma screen television and mount
* 17-inch flat-screen television
* 7-inch in-dash motorized fold-out television
* in-dash DVD player
* Xbox game console
* satellite dish and receiver

Beverage Equipment: beer tower with tap handle
* soda gun
* portable cooler
* 120-foot beer cooling coil
* soda cooling plate
* CO2 tank and regulator
* 3-gallon soda-syrup tanks
* 5-gallon soda-water tank
* various hoses and fittings

Body Modifications: Includes modifying the rear-door hinges to open to 90 degrees, removing and hinging the rear windows, and modifying the rear-hatch hinges to open wider.
Biggest Challenge: Mounting the 42-inch plasma television to the rear hatch and powering it remotely using hydraulics was the biggest challenge the builders faced. Many factors were involved, including weight, location and position of the television, and engineering the hydraulics, cylinders and hinge system to work properly.

I'm dead serious. When I move back I'm looking into doing something like this. I can work a plasma torch and a MIG. My Dad has a boat load of friends in WNY that work or tinker in mechanics...painting etc. We could rig something sweet.

I like the small bus idea. We could get a couple of live taps that can be accessed from the side of the van, a nice grill that is maybe rigged to a handicap ramp, have to get a sweet flat screen with satellite TV and intense surround sound to be enjoyed from the outside of the bus. So many possibilities.

You guys should install retractable awnings on the sides and turn the interior into a taco truck. and put a trailer hitch on the back so you can haul a trailer holding a bathtub that will be secured to it so you can fill it with ice and throw a couple kegs in it - that would be awesome - sorry, I'm not trying to poop on your buddy's ideas - I'm sure he'll make it just as good if not better than my ideas.
