He finally came through with a big play for a TD. Seems like he's got one foot ahead of reed in the race for #2. He also would have had a 19 yard catch on 3rd down, but it was nullified by villariel's penalty.

Re: How about that one eyed price
As long as someone steps up.
I've said all off-season that Price is washed up, but it would be worth being wrong to have a legit #2 WR on this team.

Re: How about that one eyed price
Don't bet on it...Reed's still a better blocker than Price, and one catch tonight doesn't necessarily push Price up on the depth chart. IMO, he still needs to really out-play Reed over the next two weeks to earn the #2.YardRat Wall of Fame

Re: How about that one eyed price
just repeating myself here but what we'll get out of price is that. he always was a perimeter and long ball guy and thats what he is now. cant beat the double team consistently enough to be a one but in single can outrun defender for the big gainer
in fact isnt that what we decided when donawho pulled off one of his greatest coups when he tagged and bagged him to atlanta for mcgahee
price was great as a two but we here just knew he wasnt going to make it as the man. and i didnt think it was homerism in that case, we saw how price played at it wasnt move the chains type stuff. even a guy like keyshaun, who doesnt have nearly prices speed, was more valuable as a one because he could make the five to eight yard catch consistently
watching the pairing with evans and losman as the long ball specialist and thinking about what could happen there makes my tingle a little. throw in josh reed making plays and flattening tacklers for the other guys, and parrishs incredible quickness and oo la la
its also great to see mcgahee getting swing passes. so far it has been mostly unimpressive but if they can get that down and get him in space thats some chunkables right there
lots of ifs but the ingredients appear to be present. lots of talent under the steady influence of the marv zone. the old farts got the ship steaming ahead

Re: How about that one eyed price
Coaches want receivers who are productive and also means scoring. Reed has yet to score a TD, but Price has. I'm sure reed could stay on the roster because of his strong run blocking skills, but what good is that when you've got evans being double teamed all the time? Price is a deep threat and that's the offense needs in the starting lineup along with Evans.

Not that I think Price is a great player or a certain number 1, but Vick throws like 15 to 20 balls a game and the majority go to Crumpler and his backs. WRs get like 5 balls a game thrown to them. How the hell was he gonna do well in that situation?

Re: How about that one eyed price
right its pretty much established that vick isnt a wr friendly qb. that of course also hurt prices numbers
even so i always felt price would struggle as a one on any team. he just doesnt make the bread and butter catches that ones need to. but hes a great number two in single coverageOne set of rules for all in the beloved community

Re: How about that one eyed price
btw im not even sure there will be a clear cut two to start the season. it looks like theyll be rotating reed in consistently. their effusive praise of his blocking and their emphasis on chunk yards has me thinking they want reed on the field to help spring runs and yac numbers. prices weakness was always run blocking as you may recall
