I went to the game wearing a Metcalf jersey and got harassed somewhat, which was cool...I had to throw that in.
To the game....
Pluses-JP easily played the best game I've seen yet out of him in a Bills uniform, the Bills had a pass rush, the defense clamped down after the Browns first drive where they could do anything they wanted-seems to be the working theme of this pre-season so far, Peerless does exist! The O-line blocked Clevelands' front seven pretty consistently, then again as a Browns fan this didn't surprise me because Cleveland can't generate a pass rush outside of Wimbley anyways. The rush defense actually looked somewhat impressive for a change.
Minuses-Clock management, stupid penalties, Shelton couldn't catch an STD from an used and abused hooker-if this schmuck makes the team I'd be shocked. McGahee was unimpressive this week if not outright terrible, his running was weak and he couldn't pick up the blitz. Clements was on the field, I think, not like he did anything nor the rest of the secondary for that matter. Coy Wire is another guy, how is he still on this team?
All in all it was a good performance against another bad team. Losman torched the Browns in the passing game, well because a. cleveland couldn't really get pressure on him and b. their starting corners Baxter and McCutcheon didn't play. On the TD pass some guy named Brown, who I think is the Browns 4th corner was covering Price lol So he should have looked good. With who the Browns had out there and how they played, if Losman had a bad day we'd be in some trouble as would he.
Being a fan of both teams, it was painful to watch and realize that neither of these teams is going to be very good this year, again, as usual. However it was good to see both McGinest and Takeo on the field for the first time this preseason. Not like McGinest did anything though.
