Is it just me, or does it seem like we ALWAYS play the Pats the week after their bye week?

wishful thinking, Skooby- I say no worse than 3-2 with 3 AFCE victories.

I agree with skoob. Denver, Cinci and Miami beat them. Then we beat them at home after the Bye. Man 2-4 start for the patsies would be an early, and welcomb christmas present!

Piss off.

I want the Pats to lose as much as anyone, but the fact remains that they still have Bellicheck, they still have Brady, and they're still the team to beat in our division. Their demise will come, but not til someone else in our division gets better.

Piss off? Truth hurt?

You defend that team every chance you get. It only seems fair to call you a fan of theirs. :snicker:

I don't "defend" that team- I only correct the morons who actually think that we're better than then and that they aren't the best team in the East still. I despise that team, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still better than everyone else in the division.

If you can't see that, it's only because your blinded by your own hatred.

I thought it took a whole team to win games. Oh wait, they only need a good kicker to win Super Bowls. :chuckle:

right, their QB and coaching staff is the worst in the league. That's why 2 of their assistants are now NFL head coaches and another is the head coach at Notre Dame.

See what I mean?
I didn't say that, you did.
You can't deny the fact that all 3 of those S.B. would prolly have a different outcome had they not had Vinateri. Please! :shakeno:

but Vinatieri didn't get them there by himself. Please.

Last time I checked there were 53 guys on the roster and the kicker only participates in approximately 6-10 plays a game.

And how is stating facts defending them? You have this misconception about Vinatieri that shows an utter lack of football knowledge, but somehow correcting you is the same as defending the Patriots.

The only reason people hate the Patriots so much is the way the media portrays them can you imagine how sick people would have been of the Steelers or the Packers if ESPN and Fox Sports, etc where around then

A great football team is a great football team it sucks they are in the same division as the Bills but they still have been a great team after basically sucking for their whole history up to their first SB win

Denver will not get the benefit of a ton of horrible calls like they did in last years playoff game(revenge will heavily be on the pats mind),and miami will not be playing the pats 2nd and 3rd stringers this year at foxboro like in week 17 last year....cinn,well see what happens there, that team is more hype then anything.I think cinn are frauds and palmer will be nervous everytime he throws. But maybe a miracle happens for them-- pats are a minimum of 4-1 after 5 games--- and there 6th game is basically a bye week in itself when they face the bills who i think are weaker then some cfl teams imho.

I guess we forgot about wide right? I mean come on OP, who got them the rest of the way, ADAM. That's not to say another kicker would have missed it but he was as clutch as Brady when it mattered. If you think every position is as important as other, you dead wrong. Certain positions people can be replaced alot easier than other's. No one to date has replaced Jimbo, Thurman, Bruce......... and the list goes on.

This is more like the truth, they have looked very good even w/o Branch. Two excellent RB's, they will be able to pound the ball this year. I am an optimist but the Bills have about a snowballs chance in Miami of beating the Pats in Foxboro opening day. But I will still hold out hope and root like hell.

you're kidding right? If Brady doesn't complete the pass, or the receiver doesn't catch the pass, or the LT misses a block that leads to a sack, or the center and guard don't clear a hole for the RB, then Vinatieri is NEVER EVEN IN a position to make that kick. All it takes is one player making one mistake on the last drive, and there is no FG attempt.

Think things through, Skooby.

Yah it does seem like we always play those bastards coming off their bye week. They've also had one hell of a bye to prepare for us this offseason... we've had the same amount of time though.

unfortunately it works in their favor because they had less turnover and don't have new systems- we're learning, they're fine-tuning.

Last year he was sure that the "Patriots will only win 6 games at the most"
