Coughlin loves Lorenzen's heart, and he comes to play. He doesnt possess all the skill but he makes up for it in heart and passion

"A close friend of Johnson, Hasselbeck said his buddy never expressed concern about a job."

Well, a $15M signing bonus will tend to do that to a person.

I'm glad rj is gone, but I don't know many people can still be so stupid after reading an article. The guy had a lingering elbow problem since his last year in buffalo. He never got surgery on it until it finally caught up with him when he played for oakland. The guy doesn't have to work, but he has yet to fully recover from tommy john surgery. Otherwise, he would have beat out fat boy and hassleback.

I don't understand all the hatred towards Rob Johnson. So he wasnt a very good qb while he was with the Bills, but while he was here he worked his ass off trying to help his team. He was always good to the fans the few times I saw him at training camp. Is it because Ralph and Butler were dumb enough to give him that outrageous contract? If so, that's no reason for the personal attacks against him.

1998- QB rating 102.9
1999- QB rating 119.5
2000- QB rating 82.2
2001- QB rating 76.3

Those are all better than what my Fins have had since Marino retired.

I agree.

I just transposed a 1998 game against the 49ers from VHS to DVD, and he looked pretty darn good.

Urban legend has become reality.

I always admired Rob for the reverse lateral game. With an OL worse than the one we have now, he lead the team down the field for the go ahead FG.

But I don't want him back either.

This is precisely why a QB cannot and should not be judged by rating alone.

It's not hard to have a good qb rating when you tuck the ball instead of taking chances downfield. It makes the OL look worse than it is. I mean seriously, how many teams has he been with and then cut ? He was horrible in relieving Brad Johnson with the bucs . All they did was score field goals when he was qb'ing but they won the sb because of their D.

He was only brought in with the giants because Coughlin was the one who drafted him. Now Coughlin realizes he'll never amount to anything even with that qb rating.

He didn't help the bucs much offensively, but he also didn't put them in a position to lose either. He didn't turn the ball over, which was key. Some people will say rj didn't deserve his ring, but he did everything they asked him to, so he he deserved it.

And the reason coughlin cut him was because he saw his arm wasn't healing up as fast.

anyone can tuck the ball for a sack or hand it off . That's why teams would rather keep their current 3rd stringers than hire him.

He did more than just tuck the ball and hand it off. I happened to watch the game because there was nothing else to watch considering the bills didn't make the playoffs.

The RJ (not you justa) haters were the then Flutie lovers who have subconciously carried all the hate even till this day. This includes myself.

In retrospect, he really wasn't that bad. We just hated him so damn much because Flutie should've been the one starting the forward lateral game, but got duped by Fat Wade and the front office.
